Short Memo: Tra Vinh is Sharing Pilot City Experiences

Viet Nam

Tra Vinh, the Vietnamese city that successfully implemented the best practice of ‘E-Government in Public Administration for Local Economic Development’ was invited to share its experience in working with best practices during the inception workshop for a new EU co-funded project in Vietnam in October 2013.

Tra Vinh was inspired by the example from Indonesian city of Yogyakarta to improve its administrative services through making online transactions possible. This not only made life easier for local people, it also increased transparency and reduced costs of administrative processes.

The new EU co-funded project that started in July 2013, Strengthening Local Governance for Local Economic Growth in Vietnamese Cities (LoGoViC), is implemented by the Association of Cities of Vietnam (ACVN) in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The project aims at strengthening the local governance system and creating an enabling environment for local economic growth.
