On December 20, DELGOSEA Thailand national coordinator Tharee Kamuang and DELGOSEA coach Mr. Akekaluk visited the DELGOSEA Best Practice city Prik Municipality.

The national coordinator and the coach reported the progress of DELGOSEA and discussed Prik's involvement. The DELGOSEA Thailand team suggested the possibility of proposing Prik Municipality to become one of the 'good practices on community democracy' to the representatives of the municipality. This campaign is promoted by the Council of Democracy Development under the King Prajathippok Institute. Everyone present signaled his or her strong interest in and support of this idea. The representatives are eager to engage in this endeavor further.

The "Partnership for Democratic Local Governance in Southeast-Asia" (DELGOSEA) project is a network of Local Government Associations (LGAs), local authorities, non-government organizations and academic institutions in Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, focusing on transnational exchange of sustainable good governance practices in four main areas: people's participation in planning and decision-making; institutional governance; urban environment; and fiscal management and investment promotion strategies. DELGOSEA is co-funded by the European Commission and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) of Germany through the German Ministry for Development Cooperation.
